Choosing the number
GoHighLevel does not say which WhatsApp number to send from. With several numbers, routing rules decide, and you can change them.
Pick the number in the text
Write {WA#2} anywhere in the message to send it from "WhatsApp #2". The code is removed from the text: the customer never sees it. Each "WhatsApp #N" is shown in the panel under Numbers, and it stays the same even if you rename the number.
Hi Mark, your appointment tomorrow is confirmed. {WA#2}
Routing rules
Without {WA#N}, each message follows these rules, in order. Find them in Routing & queue (admins only): you can switch them off and reorder them. The last one always stays last.
| Rule | Which number it uses |
|---|---|
| Last conversation | The number the contact last talked to, so the reply stays in the same chat. |
| Contact tag | The number in the contact's tag, for example wa:+15551234567. |
| Assigned user | The number of the GoHighLevel user who owns the contact. |
| Logged-in user | The number of the user writing the message. |
| Default Number | The number marked as default. |
| Any available | Any connected number of the account. |
When a rule finds several numbers, the one highest in Number order, on the same page, wins. Reset goes back to the starting order.
Tie users to numbers
Open the number, go to Manage and pick the Users. Messages written by these users, or sent to contacts assigned to them, leave from this number. A user can be on several numbers.
If the chosen number is offline
- If the number from
{WA#N}or from a rule is offline, the next rule is tried. - If no number is connected but one is reconnecting, the message waits for it.
- If there is no number at all, the message is marked failed (no WhatsApp number connected).
Different from GoGHL: there a {WA#N} on an offline number is an error. In Wappuccino the message tries the next rule. If you want a contact to always hear from the same number, keep "Last conversation" at the top.
The message queue
On the same page, Message queue: messages go out one at a time, drip by drip, and the queue cannot be switched off. An admin can change how many messages go out at once and the wait between sends (at least 1000 milliseconds).
